The entry-level price in Hartbeespoort is around R550k, which will pay for a
two-bedroom flat with undercover parking.

So says Jano Booysen, who has just opened the new Realty 1 International
Property Group sales and rental franchises in Hartbeespoort, who adds that
the area's middle price range varies from about R950k to R1,2m, which buys a
three-bedroom, two-bathroom house with double garage. "Those with R4m or
more to spend can choose from a selection of luxury homes, many of which are
located in secured estates such as Pecanwood and Birdwood."

He says Harties offers a number of value-for-money properties in excellent
suburbs like Ifafi, Schoemansville and Meerhof.

He says there are three reasons why Harties is on track for substantial
growth once the economy moves into recovery mode. "These include its endless
entrepreneurial possibilities, its proximity to both Pretoria and
Johannesburg, and its wide range of residential properties.

"Hartbeespoort's small business sector is growing steadily, which is
attractive to both salary earners and entrepreneurs. Because it's a highly
sought-after holiday and weekend destination, there are enormous
possibilities for entrepreneurs in the fields of entertainment, restaurants,
galleries, and service and product delivery for residents," says Booysen.

Its location will be another influential factor in terms of its future
growth, he adds. "Harties, as the locals refer to it, is 30km from Pretoria
and 40km from Fourways. Accordingly, people can live out in the country
without having to give up their city jobs."

He also expects the town's property market to gain significant momentum once
the country is out of its financial doldrums. "For one, the setting is a
beautiful, rural one with a relatively low crime rate. For another, it
offers a wide range of architectural styles and price ranges. Newcomers are
often surprised at just how affordable it is to buy here, considering its
upmarket status."
